Sarga 101 & 102 In-Person Training for Massage Therapists
(Barefoot Massage Continuing Education)
In this in-person course, massage therapists will learn the foundations of Sarga Bodywork®, a barefoot myofascial technique that uses fabric support straps instead of overhead bars.
Students will gain an understanding of Sarga Silk alignment and wrapping methods, and will learn how to perform Sarga Bodywork techniques for both posterior and anterior applications. By the end of the course, participants will be able to deliver a full-body 90-minute Sarga sequence on a raised massage table.
Classes are intentionally kept small (maximum 6-8 participants) to allow for individualized instruction and hands-on support.
Sarga Bodywork continuing education classes are offered in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington for licensed massage therapists seeking advanced barefoot massage training.

FAQ
What is Sarga Bodywork?
Sarga Bodywork® combines the ancient art of barefoot massage with modern fascia science.
Practitioners use their feet along with a length of supportive fabric—called the Sarga Silk—which is anchored to a massage table. This system allows therapists to deliver slow, myofascial strokes and deep therapeutic pressure using body weight rather than muscular effort.
How is Sarga Bodywork different from Ashiatsu massage?
Both Sarga Bodywork and Ashiatsu massage are barefoot modalities, but they use different support systems and create different treatment effects. Ashiatsu traditionally uses overhead bars, allowing therapists to deliver long flowing strokes similar to deep-tissue Swedish massage.
Sarga Bodywork uses fabric straps instead of bars, giving therapists more freedom to lean, anchor, and shear fascial tissues with slow, targeted myofascial techniques. Many therapists who enjoy Ashiatsu are excited to explore Sarga because it offers a different biomechanical approach and a unique therapeutic feel for clients.
Where can massage therapists learn Sarga Bodywork?
Massage therapists can learn Sarga Bodywork through a hybrid training program that includes:
• an online prerequisite course
• a hands-on in-person training
The online course prepares students for the mechanics and safety considerations of barefoot work before attending the live training.
